State examination certificate in Pharmacy

(323/350) Università degli Studi di Milano, IT - Graduation December 2017

(104/110) Università degli Studi di Milano, IT (5 Years Course) - Graduation March 2017

MSc Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Technology. During my studies, I wanted to explore more possible branches of science: chemistry, pharmacology, technology and the work of the clinical pharmacist. For the professionalizing profile, I chose the Innovative Technologies and learned: how to produce tablets and pellets and how to clothe; the granulation techniques; the different uses of a Fluid Bed. In the second part of the course, I learned how to produce transdermal patches and how to characterize them.

Thesis: therapeutic reconciliation in cardiology: analysis and prevention of errors in treatment.

I did my Thesis at ASST Spedali Civili di Brescia. The thesis was created to solve a growing problem today: the increasing complexity of therapies due to the increased incidence of chronic diseases. The assumption of a greater number of drugs involves many problems. The solution proposed by the Ministry of Health is the therapeutic reconciliation, a formal process that allows detecting in detail the therapy followed by the patient and allows the doctor to evaluate if continue, change or stop it. From this study, given the high rate of interactions and discrepancies found, it is clear how necessary a standardized reconciliation process is. Despite the doctor’s will, one of the major problems that emerged during the work is the lack of time to study and apply the reconciliation. For this reason, the role of the hospital pharmacist should be re-evaluated that, with appropriate training, could assist the physician and contribute to the reconciliation. It was crucial for the work, the development of a computer system based on the real needs of the reconciliation process. The app, called Theri, has attracted the interest of a multinational pharmaceutical company and if you’re curious, in the “Project” section, is available the video presentation. Its development could contribute either to solve the common computer’s problems present in hospitals or the implementation of the entire process of reconciliation.
